Pumpkin Carving Day!

Yay!  Ten days left to halloween and it's time to carve our pumpkin, I was so amazed earlier this month when I asked Keegan if he remembered carving the pumpkin last year and he said  " I scooped it and I blew the light."  which is exactly what we did.  We scooped all the seeds out of the pumpkin and keegan spent twenty minutes trying to blow out my fake candle that we put inside.  I think we were both excited to carve our pumpkin again this year.  Keegan's recent obsession with cutting things make this a bit more difficult this year but I guess that's to be expected.  That reminds me of another story.  Last week Keegan came in to our front room crying that he wanted his footie pajamas off, which was strange because he normally loves his jammies.  I finally gave in and helped him unzip them and a steak knife fell out of the leg.  I don't know how he managed to get a steak knife in the leg of his footie pajamas without cutting himself but I am glad the didn't get hurt.  I can only think he got into my knife drawer and then knowing I would take the knife away tried to hide it. We have obviously been watching our knives a lot closer since then!

Keegan was really excited when I told him it was time to carve his pumpkin, we got it all scooped out and he told me he wanted it to have a silly face, so I got a pencil and drew out a silly face that he liked.  He was excited he got to put his hand on mine while I cut the face out and kept telling me which features to cut out and to cut faster.  My favorite part of pumpkin carving was when we had our face all done and the mess cleaned up Keegan took the top off the pumpking and sat in the opening and told me he was going pumpkin potty.  I guess it kind of did look like a potty with the hole in the top.  Too bad we cut a face in it or we could reuse it after halloween.  What a character.

Scooping.
I am glad to finally have his costume all done and I actually got him to wear the hat today by telling him he had to go back inside if he didn't keep it in.  Ok so I manipulated him, but it's so cute and it does keep his ears warm.  I will be excited to put of pictures of the ward Trunk-or-Treat this Saturday.  Well we hope all our friends and family are doing well.  It's so fun to hear from everyone and we think of all of you often.
